100 BLACK SHEEP - THE PLAN
WE ARE ALL AT DIFFERENT POINTS IN OUR LIFE, WHAT WILL SEEM DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE FOR SOME, WILL FOR OTHERS BE EASY. OUR GOALS WILL ALL BE DIFFERENT, BUT NO MATTER WHAT OUR STARTING POINT, WE CAN ALL IMPROVE OURSELVES and IMPACT POSITIVELY ON THE LIVES OF THOSE AROUND US and THOSE WE CARE ABOUT.
- Think about where you're currently at. WRITE IT DOWN!
Take Karl for example! At the beginning of 2012 he was 16.5st (231lb/105kg), he'd stopped playing football, the one thing thing that had kept him relatively fit and he'd lost his brother.
- Think about where you'd like to be (physically, mentally) and what you'd like to achieve. WRITE IT DOWN!
Karl wanted to get back in clothes he hadn't for years, he wanted to run a mile that didn't take him 11 mins, when in his younger days, he could run one in less than 5! He wanted to deal with the grief of losing Lloydy in a positive way, in a way that would make him proud and in a way that he would have recognised as being his brother. He wanted to pay tribute to him in a way fitting of the man he was.
- Think about and commit to a change, a change that you know is for the better. WRITE IT DOWN!
Karl started eating better, researched events he could take on, started running properly and going to the gym, the obvious things, but the things that become so easy to discard when life takes over.
- Think OUTSIDE your COMFORT ZONE! EXPLORE!
So how do you push yourself, test what you're made of, find out what you're truly capable of? Think outside the box! For Karl, he loved running, he loved running with Lloydy and would often run with him when he was home from operations. Him fully loaded, Karl in normal run kit, and he'd still run at Karl's pace!
- Make a PLAN! DEFINITELY WRITE THIS DOWN!
Karl found the PARAS'10, signed up, signed up 15 or so other friends and began to train, it was hard, harder than anything he'd ever done. But by the end of it they'd made a wonderful tribute to Lloydy, raised a lot of money for charity and got themselves fit!
- Be REALISTIC! (THIS IS PART OF THE PLAN)!
DON'T GO FROM GETTING OFF THE COUCH TO ATTEMPTING TO RUN A MARATHON IN A WEEK. CREATE A PLAN TO GET YOU THERE, A GREAT HOUSE CAN ONLY BE BUILT ON SOLID FOUNDATIONS!
- SHARE. (EVERYWHERE AND ESPECIALLY WITH ME)!
This is where you become accountable, not to Karl, not to anyone else, but to yourself. However, if you share what you're doing, one morning when you wake up and the weather looks sh*t, and you think "YOU KNOW WHAT, I CAN'T BE ARSED TODAY." Your brain will kick in and kick you up the arse because you've put it out there. Achievement seldom happens on it's own. Yes, you may be the one that has to do the work, but ultimately, the support you get, the reasons why you decide to improve yourself is what will get you there.
So believe in what you want to achieve and put it out there, remember the size of the challenge is specific to you, it is your challenge to challenge you.

Karl will collate your challenges and where he can, get involved or help others get involved with you. He will plot and celebrate your successes and create a group and support network as well as a website where that can all be shared, plus you'll have access to what he's doing and dreaming up!

- Write down where you're currently at.
- Write down where you'd like to be.
- Write down the changes that need to be made.
- Make a PLAN.
